The Domaine

Lights, colours, and mediterranean scents welcome you at the “Domaine Les Fouques”, between Hyères and La Londe, down the “Vallée des Borrels” with a wonderful view on the island of Porquerolles.

Christelle and Jacques Rapée, and Yves Gros work following the rule of biodynamic agriculture, practiced since 1991.

This process, initiated by Rudolf STEINER in 1924, tends to create an agricultural organization and harmony between plants, animals, and men. All this into a cosmic environment, respecting natural seasons (solar rhythms, lunar rhythms).
The vine in terrace farming has its mineral resources in the ARGILOCHISTEUX soil.

Organic resources are brought thanks to compost made by the poultry: 1 hectare is dedicated to the free-range farming.
It creates a lasting fertility of the soil without any adjunction of fertilizer.
Fruits coming from this soil: the wine, can reveal their local potential.

The international certification label DEMETER guarantees a biodynamic agriculture.

Our Team
Domaine Les Fouques

Christelle
Manager

Christelle completed a BTS in viticulture and oenology and then did a training internship as a young farmer in Bandol before joining the family business. Passionate about this sector, her main activity consists of making wine in the cellar. She manages the administrative part and takes care of the cellar when it is not run by her employees. At the end of the vinification process, she also takes care of the bottling.

Jacques
Co-manager

Bodybuilder, aeronautical mechanic and owner of his own old car garage, it is in 2008 that he started a professional reconversion in agriculture. Today, he is in charge of the commercial and viticulture part. He plans all the tasks related to the cultivation of the vines and the maintenance of the soil. Biodynamic preparations are also part of his tasks.

Yves
Partner

Yves Gros took over the estate in 1991 with his wife Michelle and was soon joined by Christelle, their daughter. He is a winegrower, winemaker and poultry farmer, and is now retired and a partner. From the outset, they have been involved in organic and biodynamic farming and their militant commitment goes further: Michelle Gros is a member of the Confédération Paysanne and Yves Gros is a member of Bio de Provence.

Véronique
Cellar master

Cellarer since 2001 and at the Domaine des Fouques for the past 3 years, she carries out all the vinification work for the whites, rosés and reds: settling, pumping over and devatting. She maintains the hygiene of the cellar. She also does the bottling, labelling and prepares the orders for the shipments. Training of trainees is part of her skills.

Boumé, Ali et Julien
Highly skilled workers

Boumé has been working on the estate since 1993, Ali since 2004 and Julien for the last 2 years.
They carry out all the viticulture work (ploughing, pruning, disbudding, treatment, harvesting), the maintenance of the agricultural equipment as well as the upkeep of the hen houses and the slaughter of poultry. They can also work in the cellar for bottling, labelling and shipping orders. Mutual aid, sharing and trust are the values that govern the team's balance.
